The kitchen in this Anaheim home had to feel like a natural continuation of the entry and living room, where Carrara Gold marble flooring already established a warm visual direction. We chose hickory cabinetry for its warm coloring and pronounced natural grain, which worked naturally with the gold tones in the stone. The marble was then repeated on the backsplash, carrying that material relationship from the surrounding spaces into the kitchen.

Function mattered just as much as the palette. We incorporated multiple appliance garages, including one with pocket doors that completely conceals the microwave and tea kettle, and had the handles on the panel-ready Sub-Zero refrigerator powder-coated to coordinate with the honey bronze hardware. Because a structural post and overhead beams had to remain, we stained them to relate to the cabinetry so those necessary elements felt intentional within the finished room.
