From the beginning, we knew the original range had to stay. Instead of treating it as something we simply had to work around, we let it help set the direction for the new Arts and Crafts kitchen. Full-inset cabinetry, bronze fixtures, and black-and-white hexagonal mosaic flooring bring in details that feel appropriate to the age of the home. Walnut on the island and range hood adds warmth and contrast against the otherwise white kitchen.

One of our favorite details is the floating glass shelving across the windows, supported by decorative white brackets that echo architectural details found elsewhere in the house. The finished kitchen feels noticeably refreshed while still holding onto the character that made the original space worth preserving.
