Symmetry shaped the entry of this contemporary-glam Irvine home, where a dramatic double staircase already created a natural focal point. We added custom seating beneath both sides, upholstered in textured black leather for contrast against the white architecture. Every piece of decorative molding around the staircase was added as part of the project, with the layout templated and traced around lighting, switches, outlets, and other electrical elements so the symmetry would remain intact. A simple composition of hanging gold tubes keeps the chandelier visually restrained and gives the railings and molding room to stand out.

Upstairs, the home office became an exercise in making functional requirements part of the custom cabinetry. Laser-cut metal grilles conceal speakers while allowing sound to pass through, stepped shelving creates more deliberate display areas, and two doors faced in thin marble slabs add another layer of material detail.
