Clairmont

The French château-inspired architecture gave us a clear direction for the interiors of this Laguna Niguel home. Our client wanted the transition from outside to inside to feel natural, so that influence carries through details such as the wood paneling at the staircase, the script-pattern wallpaper and bookcases in the library, and the light linen drapery used throughout the family room. In the entry, the curved staircase also created a natural spot for a small seating area, while a tall arrangement of framed art helped fill the large wall behind it.

Comfort became especially important in the family spaces. The clients wanted everyone to be able to gather together, so we designed a very large custom sectional and softened the room's many doors and windows with multiple panels of light linen drapery.

The daughter's bedroom presented a different challenge: it needed to feel feminine and age appropriate without making the permanent finishes too juvenile as she grew older. Floral wallpaper, a soft silver-and-gray chandelier, blush accents, and built-in window seating gave her a room that could still mature with her.
