With only two original walls remaining, this Huntington Beach renovation gave us the chance to rethink the home almost from the ground up. We worked with the client, architect, and contractor from the earliest stages to plan how each space would function.

Because the client and his friends are avid gamers, we designed a custom projecting fireplace wall that conceals the consoles, wiring, and equipment so the room could feel more grown-up without giving up how it is actually used.

A generous seating arrangement gives everyone room for gaming, sporting events, and gatherings. In the kitchen, dark wood lower cabinetry is balanced by white upper and tall cabinetry, giving the space a more masculine quality without making the open plan feel heavy. The dining area has its own identity through a dimensional wood-paneled wall with color-changing LED backlighting that lets the client shift the atmosphere.
