Belhaven

Glamour was central to this Seal Beach residence, with blue carried throughout the design, but the home also had to stand up to several large Golden Retrievers. We balanced decorative patterns, layered textures, and crystal lighting with a controlled palette so the rooms would still feel composed rather than overly themed. Although this is one of our older projects, that restraint has helped the overall look hold up well over time.

One of the most practical choices was upholstering the white sofas in Crypton performance fabric, allowing the client to have very light seating without treating it as untouchable. When our designer returned about four years later, the sofas were still in notably good condition despite the dogs, which made the material choice feel especially worthwhile.
